NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Kids were flooding Downtown North Platte Thursday night. The reason? Well, Santa Claus of course!
It was Kids Fest at the Fox. Saint Nick was there greeting children as parents took pictures.
After they were finished visiting the man in red they could go play games, make crafts and color in the next room.
There were also s'mores and horse-drawn carriages draped with Christmas decor which they could take around the block.
Committee Member Don Kurre says the kids look forward to this event every year.
"Kids just enjoy Christmas and that kind of thing so they have a chance to play some games, visit with Santa, ride in a carriage," says Kurre. "The parade's a big deal too. In fact, whoever wins our coloring contest, they'll get to ride with Santa in the parade!"
Once the event was over, the North Platte Fire Department arrived to safely put out the fires.
The Parade of Lights is the next big Downtown event taking place. It's scheduled for December 13.
