NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A North Platte City Councilman is resigning his seat. Brook Baker is buying a home outside city limits, and the ward he represents. Baker is in his sixth year on the City Council. He has two years left in his Ward One term

Baker will resign on December 18th after the last council meeting of the year. Mayor Dwight Livingston will have to appoint someone to fill out the last two years of the term.

Baker says he couldn't find a home he could afford after an extensive home search in Ward One. Ward One is basically the southeast section of North Platte.
