While groundbreaking for the expansion of the Lincoln County Detention Center won't happen until spring, there is good news when it comes to funding the project: bond rates are at historic lows.

Andy Forney with D.A. Davidson confirmed the news to the county board Monday.

Forney says interest rates are at 1.79 percent.

The board is currently looking to finance bonds not to exceed $4.7 million for the next seven years.

Commissioners are expected to sign off on the bond purchase agreement at their next meeting.
