Artists from the area, including three from North Platte, have pitched their creativity to paint twenty paint palettes throughout the community.

The project was spearheaded by the Cozad Development Corporation two years ago.

It not only raises funds for ongoing downtown improvements, but it also celebrates the community's rich art legacy in honor of local famous painter Robert Henri.

"Art really gives a town a sense of place," said Cozad Development Corporation Coordinator Laura Rody. "When you walk into our town, you will know exactly where you are, you remember the artwork, you remember the feelings it created and you will remember that it is not just your average farming town."

Six of the palettes will also be on display at the Nebraska State Fair.

The palettes will go up for auction on October 19th in Cozad. The proceeds will be split between the artist and the CDC's First Impressions Project.
