CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Singer and actor Donnie Wahlberg surprised some Waffle House employees in North Carolina.

The New Kids on the Block singer was in Charlotte for an upcoming concert when he stopped in for a late night dinner.

Wahlberg was treated like a king at the restaurant so he wanted to return the favor.

He left a $2,000 tip on a check that was a little more than $80. He also gave away concert tickets and backstage passes.

He wrote in a Facebook post that both of his parents waited tables for years, "so when I walk into a (hash)WaffleHouse, and the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens!"
