NORTH PLATTE, Neb. It's been approximately five years, but Relay for Life of the Plains is back.

The organization had a chili cook off to get people excited about the relay on May 30th.
Various teams entered their chili to compete against one another to raise money for cancer patients and awareness.
People could vote on their favorite by donating $1 to that team.
Member and cancer survivor Lori Tobiasson says this event means a lot to her.
"I myself am a four year cancer survivor of kidney cancer," said Tobiasson. "It's my way of paying it forward to our community and to others that are also cancer survivors or who are going through cancer currently."
