Farmers band together for one of their own

PAXTON, Neb. KNOP-TV Keith County farmer Paul Heinrich organized a harvest bee south of Paxton on Thursday.

About two dozen farmers volunteered the use of their combines and trucks to pick about 800 acres of dryland corn for their neighbors Don and Marcia Langmacher.

"They would be doing it if it was somebody else, they have done it before," Heinrich said. "It's just what you do out here in the farm country."

Heinrich says he didn't have to call a lot of people. The word got out and they showed up.
