Fort Cody Summer Music Series goes virtual
Fort Cody Summer Music Series has hit their tenth summer of concerts at Ford Cody but with COVID-19 this year, they are going virtual.
On their Facebook page "NRoute Entertainment" a variety of artists perform live. Those performances can be re-watched later.
Rob Martinson, with Fort Cody Summer Music Series, says they wanted this to be a way to bring artists to the community even with current restrictions.
"Well I think most people understand why we're doing it this way but for sure it is kind of a tough knot to not have those concerts out there every week because it's something people look forward to," said Martinson.
They hope by the end of the summer they can have some concerts in person.
"I'd like to see us have a couple concert events there at Fort Cody. A lot of it kind of does depend on how things go and how Fort Cody feels about it because we basically take over the stockade for the night. It's something that they've gotta be alright with as well," said Martinson.
There is not a charge for watching the concerts but they recommend tipping the artists to show them support.
"These last few months have been really hard on a lot of them because their main source of income is not there. So we do want to encourage people who watch the concerts on Facebook, listen to them, to donate," said Martinson.
