NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Flapjacks were for breakfast at the annual flapjack feed Friday morning.

Folks gathered at Cody Park to support the North Platte Jaycees and Guardians of the Children.

Sailors were on flapjack duty, flipping and serving the pancakes. Nebraskaland Days volunteers and rodeo queens dined in too.

Executive Director David Fudge says it's one of his favorite events of the celebration.

"A friend of mine once said you can eat your way through the festival and this is one of those events that allow you to do that. Jaycee's have a great time. The USS Nebraska Crew shows up here. Our visiting royalty is here. It is a fun morning to hang out with friends," said Fudge.

There will be more breakfast fun tomorrow at the pork breakfast sponsored by the North Platte Eagles.
