NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - It's a fun time for car enthusiasts at the Sonic. The first Friday of every month, Sonic and this group pair up to help each other out. Sonic gets more business, and the group gets a place to show off and share their cars.

Cars lined up at 6 p.m., Friday, and after visiting and having dinner at Sonic, they took turns doing "burnouts," and competing in a loudest car contest. Organizers saying there aren't really prizes other than some medallions sometimes. To them, the winner gets the bragging rights, and the pride of winning, and "that is enough."
Next month's event will be a 50's theme. Car enthusiast Rob Cappa says those coming will dress up for the fifties era. They will have some contests and events, but most importantly, just "have a good time together."
