Schmick's Market Co-Owner Cody Schmick says they are in the process of selling their store to Gary Suhr, owner of Gary Super Foods in North Platte.

It comes after Suhr purchased Schmick's Market in Broken Bow this past Spring.

The Schmick's have owned the McCook store since December 2005
before expanding into Broken Bow in 2010.

Then in 2014, Schmick's Market made its way to Lincoln with stores opening at 11th and Cornhusker and another on West O Street near Capitol.

Schmick says they recently approached Suhr about taking over their McCook store.

"We knew Gary was looking to expand his business and I know he does a great job there in North Platte and we've always appreciated what he does," Schmick said. "We worked our butts off with these stores and we wanted to make sure when we did sell them we were handing them off to somebody that would take the reigns and do a great job with them and we got every confidence that he will."

The sale becomes official on February 2nd.

The Schmick's say they plan to move to Lincoln to focus on their two stores.

Cody Schmick, who also owns Kinkaider's Brewery in Broken Bow, says the brewery will be making a big announcement.

The brewery also has locations in Grand Island and in Lincoln.

Suhr was not available for comment.
