Gothenburg teenager dead after shooting

GOTHENBURG, Neb. (KNOP) - Gothenburg Police say a 16-year-old teenager from Gothenburg died from a gunshot wound. Officials say the shooting happened Friday night at 10:23 pm at a home on the 1000 block on Jefferson Street.

When they arrived on scene, then teenage boy was unresponsive. He was taken to the Gothenburg E-R and then life-flighted to CHI Good Samaritan Hospital.

The teenager died in Kearney from his injuries. Officials say there is an autopsy scheduled in Gibbon.
