“From the menu to the accommodations, we are excited with this new gala format and believe that it will truly be a celebration of healthcare and also a celebration of the spirit of giving in our region,” said Leland Poppe, Great Plains Health Care Foundation board president.

Attendees of this year’s Gala will enjoy an evening dinner served family-style, live entertainment by the Emmett Bower Band, dancing and the chance to secure some extraordinary auction items. Packages range from the ultimate Husker experience to the chance to win a brand new car and many items in between. Also new this year, the opportunity to secure a hotel room with the purchase of two tickets at a very low rate.

The car being given away was donated by Jerry Remus Chevrolet in North Platte.

This year’s gala is co-chaired by Hirschfeld’s Abbie Pack and The Flower Market’s Sarah Talbott. “As a local business owner, we take pride in our healthcare system and to be able to play a role in supporting their efforts has been a great experience,” said Talbott.

"As a member of the business community, I am proud to partner with the Health Care Foundation on this year’s gala. The Foundation is instrumental in providing necessary resources that enhance patient care and improve the patient experience for those in our region." said Pack.

“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of this year’s gala committee, which consists of Meg Hoover, Courtney Kalkowski, Jan Wright, Kellie Barner, Vicki Fugate, Ellie Schad and Jackie Jo Curtis,” said Bourque. “They truly illustrate what can happen when individuals, businesses and the healthcare community come together for a great cause.”

"The work of Great Plains Health Care Foundation is rooted in our health system's mission to inspire health and healing by putting the patient first – always,” said Kathy Bourque, Great Plains Health Care Foundation executive director. “Working with the hospice program will allow the Foundation to play a role in celebrating the lives of hospice patients with their families,” said Bourque “and provide an end of life experience that is filled with dignity and individualized care.”
