NORTH PLATTE, Neb. In a press release sent by Great Plains Health, they are taking precautions in case of a surge of COVID-19 patients.

The hospital is asking individuals in the agricultural or construction industries to donate N95 masks or goggles.

A drop-off location has been established at the main entrance of 601 W. Leota in North Platte.

In efforts to protect patients, staff and the public, Great Plains Health said they are restricting all visitors except under specific circumstances.

The press release states these as the extenuating circumstances:
"Deference will be given to symptom-free visitors that are visiting patients in the labor and deliver or emergency departments, experiencing end-of-life or in intensive care."

“We want to thank the community for continuing to follow the CDC’s distancing recommendations,” said McNea. “We also want to ensure the public that we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our patients and health care workers safe.”
