After discussing the possible move with the owner of Ladybug Daycare earlier in the day. 72 Ladybug students and their families will be making the move which hopes to offer more space in the new location.
There will be at least four classrooms and an office dedicated to the daycare. Utilizing unoccupied space currently being used for the Osgood's music classes and counseling services. To accommodate the new daycare, music and counseling will be relocated to a different part of Osgood.
Chantel Tonkinson, the director/owner of Ladybug Crossing Learning Center, said this will help keep curriculums consistent.
"We would create a smooth transition for the children we serve in our program from birth to five. And align some of the resources and stuff with the public school district so that those children are ready for kindergarten when they leave our program. Curriculum and things like that would be aligned. Our behavior modification program that we use, pyramid model, which aligns with the public schools PBIS Model would be the same," said Tomkinson.
The school board is also seeking teachers for the 20-21 school year throughout the district - as they are seeing many of their teachers retire after this school year.
