Governor Pete Ricketts unveiled a new website Thursday to help connect more Nebraskans with opportunities to request and provide relief. The website can be viewed at

On the website, Nebraskans who need relief can log requests for items ranging from housing to tools. Requests will then be reviewed by the Nebraska Preparedness Partnership before being posted. After they are reviewed, they will then be available for fulfillment by members of the public.

Members of the public who want to help provide relief are encouraged to monitor the website for new requests.

Hy-Vee announced fund raising efforts to benefit the American Red Cross of Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. Hy-vee customers can donate any amount at the register or customer service counter to help with flood relief efforts. Hy-Vee will then match consumer donations up to $50,000.

100% of every donation to the Nebraska/Iowa Flood Relief Fund will be directed to nonprofit programs meeting people’s needs for emergency shelter, food and more. Grand Island Community Foundation

The Grand Island Community Foundation has established a Disaster Relief Fund for Central Nebraska. Funds will be available for the local area to assist with relief related to the disastrous flooding seen in the Central Nebraska area. Those wishing to contribute to the fund can do that at

Kearney Area Community Foundation

Nebraska Department of Agriculture

If you have hay, feed stuffs, fencing materials, equipment, etc. that you are willing to donate, please contact the Nebraska Department of Agriculture at 1-800-831-0550. Be prepared to share your name, contact information and what you have that you are willing to donate and the amount, along with your location. NDA staff will be gathering this information and identifying needs to react accordingly, including the use of the National Guard and other state resources. Bank on Nebraska Strong

The Nebraska Bankers Association has begun work with local banks and Nebraska United Ways to establish the Bank on Nebraska Strong fund. The NBA hopes that the fund will be used to help with initial needs and rebuilding of businesses and communities.
