The McCook Farm, Ranch and Hemp Expo held a couple of different panels with hemp growth and cultivation as the topic.

The owner of Purple Sage Hemp Company in Colorado was the keynote panelist for both.

He spoke about the benefits of hemp to society as well as how to properly grow it while staying within the newly implemented laws in Nebraska.

Aside from it being an alternative to plastics and other non-biodegradable products, it's also used for medicinal purposes.

'It's a beneficial plant that helps people in their elder years have a higher quality of life," said Waldrip.

"The chronic pain and the anti-inflammatory properties of hemp extract is so important. You have to let people in their own time understand and see their neighbors and their friends confirm that it helps them."

An interesting note made by Waldrip was the fact that the first Ford vehicle as well as its fuel were both made from hemp.
