Herb Market to help fund third floor of the Prairie Arts Center

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Saturday was the annual Herb Market at the Prairie Arts Center.

The Herb Market is traditionally held on Mother's Day Weekend.

This year's specialty items were square pieces of chalkboard which were cut from the originals left by the college.

Each board is considered to be a piece of history.

Prairie Arts Center's Building Chairman Wava Best says this year's market is an effort to fund the finishing touches on the third floor.

"It's getting very close. The walls are up and they're being painted," Best said.

"Some of the mechanical is in. We're waiting right now to finish the painting, clean the floors- get those painted, the ceilings and the rest of the electrical can be put in."
