NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Police are investigating a Friday night mobile home fire after Fire Marshal George Lewis called it arson. People living in the home told police someone threw an explosive at the home just after 11 p.m.

North Platte Fire Marshal George Lewis says the fire started outside the home on Lot 50 at the Patriot Mobile Home Park. He says the fire burned on the northeast corner of the home. He also says steel skirting prevented the fire from creating a lot of damage.

Lewis says neighbors started putting out the fire with a garden hose before fire crews arrived.
