Honor Band takes the stage at NPHS

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Students from 16 different schools in Central and Western Nebraska played together in Honor Band at North Platte High School.

Each musician received the music in December and have been practicing on their own.

Honor Band provides 7th and 8th grade students with an opportunity to play more challenging pieces with a new director.

This year's director was retired Hershey Band Director Lori Evans.

The group started practicing together for the first time at 8 o'clock in the morning on Saturday until their performance at 3 p.m.

The schools represented were Adams Middle School, Anselmo-Merna, Arnold, Arthur County, Bertrand, Brady, Callaway, Cambridge, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Hyannis, Kearney Catholic, Paxton, Sandhills, Twin Loup, Sutherland and Wallace.
