This week Nebraska Public Power District and Nebraska Game and Parks closed various beach sites and implemented camping rules.
However, even though people having to abide by the regulations there are still hundreds of people enjoying the lake.
The Casillas and Knapp families are cousins from different states who meet at Lake Maloney multiple times per year.
"I was raised out here as a kid. We come out here every year, 10-12 times per year because it's a great fishing place," said John Casillas of Denver, CO.
"My dad always brought us fishing as kids. My uncles and everybody comes out here. It's just really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city."
Nebraska Game and Parks encourages people to have a good time. But, would like to remind everyone of the social distancing rules.
