Icy conditions across the eastern half of the state

Icy conditions returned to Nebraska early Friday morning. (Brayden Murdock, KNOP-TV).

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A strong low pressure system passed through the region early Friday morning. The system offers a rain, snow mix for areas like North Platte and the Sandhills.

Areas further to the east saw much for ice followed by snow accumulation with the heaviest snow fall off towards the Ti-Cities, Lincoln and Omaha.

In the afternoon, there will be a few more chances for rain and snow but our most dangerous conditions are behind us. Late tonight we'll see strong winds behind our last few chances for rain and snow leading to dangerous windchills overnight.
