Lincoln County Commissioners making changes to the courthouse

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Lincoln County Commissioners want to make some changes to the courthouse.

The commissioners discussed relocating the Veterans and DMV offices to the original courthouse. They would like to move those offices to the former county treasurer's real estate office.

They believe putting those offices in one building will allow more convenience and efficiency. Lincoln County Commissioner Joseph Hewgley said, "What we're trying to do is try to make things not only more convenient for the public having those in one location, rather than having to walk a block away for a related service, it also allows us to take some of the other offices that we have off sight and to bring those into a location that might be a little more convenient for them.

The commissioners hope to move the offices in a few months.
