Live country music bar opening this week

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) There’s gonna be a new bar in town and it’s got everything. The stage is set and lit for country music acts to take the stage at the Oregon Trail Roadhouse on "M" st. in Gering.

There's a handful of pool tables, outdoor games, plenty of dance floor, plenty of cozy tables, and three bars to choose from. All that dining space? That's gonna come in handy when the restaurant gets into full swing serving up roadhouse fare in a couple of weeks.

The Oregon Trail Roadhouse is the second business Chad Leeling has opened in the “twin cities”. Shots has been open about four years and has a “club vibe” according to locals. Leeling said he hopes the roadhouse will be the kind of place that couples go to for good food and live music on date nights.

The roadhouse soft opens on the 9th featuring local DJ favorites. Then, a grand opening on the 12th will feature "The Brett Allen Band."

Leeling will be signing live country bands every week, and might be hooking some big fish from the country music scene. He even renovated the stage to allow for bigger equipment, lighting, and special effects that larger bands bring with them.
