Local North Platte events awarded marketing grant funds

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) Local tourism officials are granting over $17,000 in marketing dollars and assistance to local event organizers in 2020. The Advisory Committee through the North Platte / Lincoln County Visitors Bureau picked five groups to get the latest round of promotion funds.

Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association will get $1012.50 to help market the 2020 pageant.

April's Huskin Auss Spring Show is at the D & N Event Center. They are getting $500 for brochures and Facebook marketing. They are also getting $3,000 in incentive funds to cover judge's expenses for the Australian Shepherd show.

Money is also going to this summer's Buffalo Bill Brawl National Open Boxing Tournament. $500 in promotion funds and up to $5,000 in sports incentive funds for an event expected to bring up to 400 boxes throughout the region.

North Platte Belle’s Softball will get $1,000 to help cover umpire costs for their 2020 tournaments.

And $6,000 will help cover expenses for the All-In-One-Ticket promotion for the Golden Spike, Historical Museum, Buffalo Bill State Historical Park, and Cody Park Railroad Museum. Officials say the promotion was very popular in 2016 through 2018 and missed greatly by visitors when it was discontinued in 2019. The Advisory Committee of the Visitors Bureau is very pleased these organizations are working to bring back the promotion for 2020.
