North Platte Community College will not raffle a car this year for the first time since the program was started in 2004. Auto body students were not in class to work on its restoration.

Usually NPCC's Automotive and Auto Body Technology programs restore a classic car that tours the state and then is raffled to raise money for scholarships.

The drawing is held in North Platte in the fall. But officials say the hands-on classes where students work on the car, were moved online.

Officials say the raffle will return in 2021. The college raised Over $150,000 in the past 16 years.
