Local man wins Mustang at raffle drawing

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Why spend thousands on a new car when you can get one for only 12 raffle tickets? That's how one North Platte man Isai Zuniga came to win the car of his dreams.

Alongside the Colonel Cody Cruise Show, the Mid-Plains Community College hosted their 15th annual raffle drawing, this time for a 1969 ford mustang convertible. Emblazoned with the college's name, the car was restored by students in the automotive technology and auto body technology programs. Attendees could purchase as many raffle tickets as they wanted up until the drawing of the winning ticket.

"Oh my gosh it was, like, it was an amazing feeling," Zuniga said. "To win a car, instead of spending, and helping actually, people from the college, that's the main thing."

Zuniga described himself as a "car guy," and said he prefers American-built muscle cars.
