The Espresso Shop in downtown North Platte is hosting the band Crooked Fix from Columbia, Missouri. Jawn Kidd will be the opening act playing guitar and singing.

Kidd said he is a self-taught musician and thanks a video game for part of his success as a musician.

'I picked it up when I was 15 finally because both of my parents really wanted me to get into it, but it wasn’t really my thing, in fact one Christmas they got me a guitar, but I also got guitar hero and I played more guitar hero," said Kidd, "Thankfully I did play guitar hero a lot and I actually got some of the rhythm for it."

Kidd said he thinks everyone should get involved in music in some capacity. "Everybody should play an instrument, I think, or sing or whatever. If everybody could play in instrument, this world would be a better place."

The concert is Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and the cost is five dollars.
