Man who led law enforcement on a manhunt appears in Lincoln County Court
A North Platte man asked a judge to reduce his bond in a Lincoln County court room Thursday.
Aaron Kirts is the man accused to leading law enforcement on a man hunt in February.
The 37-year-old appeared before Judge Joel Jay to face his charges. He is accused of assaulting and robbing Katie Smith and resisting arrest.
Kirts' lawyer asked the case be moved to Lincoln County District Court and wave the preliminary hearing.
Judge Jay accepted his wavier of the preliminary hearing and scheduled for district court.
Kirts' lawyer asked for a bond reduction after the state earlier denied it.
Lincoln County attorney Rebecca Harling is ok with the bond reduction as long as he serves his felony jail time concurrently. Judge Jay agreed.
Kirts is also charged with second degree trespassing on a separate case which is scheduled for May 7th at 9:30 a.m.
