ELWOOD, Neb. Austin Vanburen and James Pollock went before a judge on Friday after allegedly throwing a dog onto ice.

On January 7 the men were charged with animal cruelty after a video surfaced of the men throwing a 1-year-old Labrador onto a frozen lake breaking the ice.

Rather than submitting pleas, the men asked to be appointed attorney's.
Vanburen was said to be the man filming, while Pollock threw the dog.

According to reports Pollock threw the lab multiple times onto its back and made the dog swim in icy water back to shore.

Pollock told the court the report was false on two accounts. The first being the dog wasn't thrown onto its back, and the second, he didn't throw the dog multiple times.

Both men were appointed attorneys and they'll reconvene on February 14 at 10:30 a.m. in Gosper County.
