A minivan struck a residence in North Platte Wednesday morning.

At 7:45 a.m. the North Platte Police Department responded to the report in the 900 block of East 5th Street.

According to NPPD the resulting investigation revealed that a minivan was westbound on East 5th St and a box truck was southbound on North Tabor. The two vehicles approached the intersection at the same time, which has no stop signs, and the minivan failed to yield the right of way to the box truck.

The resulting collision caused the minivan to strike a residence on the southwest corner of the intersection. The driver and passenger of the minivan were transported to the emergency room with minor injuries and the van was totaled. The other driver was not injured and the damage to the box truck was minimal.
