Kids were placed in different age groups or teams to build their sand masterpieces, while four year-olds and under dug through the sand to find about 100 dollars worth of change.

"We do it every year with our daycare and this year we are trying to do the theme "Candyland," said nine-year-old Greyson Kautz.

"Um, I just like digging in the sand and seeing what you can make with it," said ten-year-old Avery Luenenburg.

About 100 kids competed for prizes.
