Ms. Real Estate and Ms. Massage Therapist accept donations for Ms. Habitat competition

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Ms. Real Estate and Ms. Massage Therapist were out campaigning for donations at Pals Brewing Company Wednesday night.

Jen Read and Brenda Twidwell are two of the contestants in the Ms. Habitat competition and are working to meet their fundraising goals for the Habitat for Humanity.

The ladies were selling calendars for $15 that feature all 12 contestants for each month. Pals was also donating 10% of their sales Wednesday night to Habitat.

Twidwell said each contestant has a personal reason why they volunteer.

"We all have different reasons why we want to support the cause. Myself about 15 years ago my house burned down and I lost everything so I really understand the need of a home and how important it is," said Twidwell.

Dalene Skates with the Habitat for Humanity, says it takes about $68,000 to build one home so this year with the 12 women raising funds, they are hoping to be able to build a house. The Ms. Habitat competition will be held March 9th and tickets are on sale now.
