Music On the Bricks To Feature Top Local Artists

North Platte, Neb. (KNOP) On Friday-Saturday nights, Aug 18-19, live music will be available by native North Platte musicians.

Tami Gosnell, Simple Story and The WonderCult will perform Saturday Night at Music on the Bricks in Downtown North Platte.

The Friday, August 18th show will be at the Espresso shop located at Fifth and Dewey. Tami Gosnell, Simple Story and Blue Swing will perform acoustic music in a coffee house setting. Admission is by a free will donation at the door.

Saturday, August 19th will be outdoors at 5th and Dewey. The night will begin at 6:30 with kids games. From 8-midnight there will be live rock and jazz music. Admission is $5.

Tami Gosnell advanced to the top rounds of American Idol in 2007, delivering a performance that was later named the 5th best all-time American Idol audition by Entertainment Weekly.

She now lives in northern California.

Simple Story was one of the most dynamic bands in the North Platte area in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with two CD's to their credit, consisting of Tom Gosnell, Brandon and Luke Raby, and Jason Davis.

Blue Swing consists of Brandon Raby, Luke Raby and Steve Barger, who are renowned for percolating gypsy jazz.

Jareb Liewer is a professional musician for 10 years who grew up in North Platte. He is now based in Los Angeles, with his band, Suez.

In 2010, he finished in the top 50 on American Idol, auditioning in front of judges Simon Crowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.

Liewer is a North Platte High class of 2000 graduate.
