NP Catholic Schools hires new principal

North Platte's Catholic Schools hired Deacon Matt Irish to be the their Jr./Sr. High Principal next fall. The School Board approved the contract Tuesday night.

Superintendent, Kevin Dodson says Irish's administrative experience, leadership and his commitment to his Catholic faith will continue a strong tradition of academic excellence.

Irish graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1991. Irish is currently a principal at Lincoln Elementary for North Platte's Public Schools.

He was ordained a deacon in In May of 2017.

Current High School Prinicpal Mark Skillstad retires at the end of this year.

Through a press release, Deacon Irish says he Deacon Irish hopes to serve Christ by building trusting professional relationships through servant leadership and to lead others towards improving their relationship with Jesus Christ, help Christians on their journey towards sainthood, build positive teams and establish positive supports and experiences that help others grow in faith and to reach goals that align with Catholic values.
