NP Mayoral candidate in jail for DUI

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A man running for North Platte mayor is arrested for drunk driving. Court records reveal Larry Lee Britton was cited for Driving Under the Influence, third offense. Records show he is still in the Lincoln County Jail waiting for his court appearance.

63-year-old Britton was arrested on March 18th on West 6th Street for failure to use a turn signal, twice. A Nebraska State Patrol Trooper reported the breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol level of at least .15.

Britton filed to run in the May Primary against five other candidates.
