NORTH PLATTE, Neb. A North Platte High School senior is leading a movement to get rid of social barriers.
Nathan Franz is encouraging his peers to be more inclusive.
Thursday Franz participated in a track practice with participants of the Special Olympics of Nebraska.
The practice took place in the North Platte High School commons.
Franz says he's developed great relationships with the teens and has found he enjoys many of the same things as they do.
"They're so much more like you and me than we think," says Franz.
"That's really the message we spread is putting aside your differences and finding your common humanity because that's the one thing we all have."
There is a summit taking place on April 6 to introduce the program to other students who'd like to participate.
