NPPD and NPFD come together to raise money for families

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Habitat For Humanity, North Platte Fire and Police Departments joined together on Saturday to support families in need.

Members of these groups as well as the community participated in a cornhole and soup cook-off competition.

There was also a silent auction and garage sale to raise funds for the Habitat For Humanity organization.

Representatives from all three groups say this has been a collaborative effort to help the community.

"It's kind of how the whole Ms. Habitat competition has been going," says Habitat For Humanity's Dalene Skates.

"The competitors go to each others events and they help share each others events that they're doing. So the comradery has been that way through the whole competition."
