NPPD calls up for 2019 NebraskaLand Days

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP-TV North Platte police stayed very busy during this year's NebraskaLand Days two-week celebration.

In total, they responded to 1,132 calls. Of those, 38 teens were arrested for minor in possession, compared to last year's 13.

Five people were arrested for procuring alcohol for minors, compared to no arrests last year.

North Platte Police Department Public Information Officer Beth Kerr says the department is looking into adding more officers for next year's celebration.

"We have had five officers in uniform this year out at the arena and next year we are possibly looking at having seven," Officer Kerr said. "Plus, on concerts nights there are also four undercover officers and we might add a few more to that number too."

Last year, police responded to 1,076 calls.
