ELWOOD, Neb. (KNOP) - Two Elwood, Nebraska, men entered pleas in a case of animal abuse in Gosper County. Court records show James Pollock, 29, is accused of mistreating an animal. Pollock says he is not guilty. His pretrial hearing is March 27th.

Court records show Austin Vanburen, 19, pled guilty with the Judge Jeffrey Wightman finding him guilty on an amended misdemeanor charge of mistreating an animal.

Judge Wightman ordered Vanburen back to court on April 17th.

The two men were accused of animal cruelty after a video surfaced of Pollock throwing a 1-year-old Labrador onto a frozen lake, breaking the ice. Reports say Pollock threw the dog while Vanburen taped it.
