North Platte Community College host Santa's Workshop

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Student athletes at North Platte Community College volunteered their night to staff the 9th Annual Santa's Workshop Wednesday night.

Volleyball, basketball and softball athletes from North Platte Community College ran booths of games, face painting, cookie decorating and more.

The cost to get in was a can of food for the new food pantry the college is starting. Santa was present meeting and greeting kids, finding out what they wanted for the holidays.

Sydney Mullin is a volleyball player at NPCC and says she loved being a part of the night.

"Well it definitely pulls on your heart strings, but overall it's just a happy warming feeling, I enjoy being around kids to see them smile and even giving them a little Santa hat, it lights their face up so I always love that," said Mullin.

This was the first year they have collected food for the college food pantry which is set to open up sometime next year.
