North Platte businesses receive awards

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Dozens of North Platte companies celebrate business and entrepreneurship Thursday night at The North Platte Area Chamber and Development Annual Meeting and Social as they closed out their 2019 fiscal year.

The evening opened with a social hour consisting of horderves, drinks and live music. Following that was a program and awards ceremony.

The awards given out were:

Entrepreneurs of the Year: Shae and Jeff Caldwell of Whitetail Screenprint & Whitetail Cycle Sport.

Community Impact Volunteer of the Year: Mike Jacobson of NebraskaLand National Bank.

New Business of the Year': Paws-a-Palooza owned by Dawn & Todd Brosius.

Business of the Year: Sky West Airlines, United Express and Eye Surgeons or Nebraska.

Business CEO of the year: Mel McNea of Great Plains Health.

North Platte Chamber president and CEO, Gary Person, said North Platte has a lot of great, hard working businesses in town.

"There's just good people in our organization and business people that truly, deeply care about making North Platte and Lincoln County better and we sincerely appreciate them very much," said Person, "They are very dedicated to their own businesses but to give that extra effort to help us be successful."

They also held a centerpiece contest voted on with raffle tickets purchased for a dollar each. The first place went to Western Nebraska Bank, in 2nd place was Linden Court and 3rd place was The North Platte Chamber Hostesses.
