NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte Community College Foundation auctioned off a one of a kind home Thursday.

The home was built by NPCC students over the past two years and the symbolic key was given to Brad Kohler.

Kohler won the house with a bid of $127,500 in May, but is now able to call this house a home.

Kohler is very pleased with his new home and said, "It's amazing, they've done an outstanding job. The craftsmanship, the workmanship. They've done a nice job on it."

One of the NPCC students who participated in building the house, Colleen Mortensen is delighted to be apart of something great.

Mortensen said, "You know its, really fun, it's exciting. I'm glad that brad was really happy with the house. I loved watching him come in all summer long."

A similar home is currently under construction and is expected to go up for sale next year. This is a tradition that started in 1971.
