Officials with the Lincoln Sheriffs Office say an observant citizen may have broke up a burglary in progress south of North Platte along Buffalo Bill Avenue Thursday evening.
Deputies say someone called the sheriffs office on a suspicious vehicle report near their property at about 6 p.m.

The sheriffs office, assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, investigated the call. They say they believe a house was in the process of being burglarized. Deputies found suspected stolen property under trees in a nearby field.

Law enforcement were not able to apprehend the suspects but they do have the suspects car.
The Lincoln County Sheriffs office say this is an ongoing investigation.
