NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - North Platte's biggest event, Nebraskaland Days is soon approaching.

Organizers are in the beginning stages of gearing up for the festival and are very hopeful. Based on ticket sales so far, they expect a huge turnout of folks from Nebraska and all over the country.

This year the state's official celebration will be adding a 9-day Carnival Americana as part of the many events.

Nebraskaland Days Executive Director David Fudge says he hopes to give festival goers an amazing experience. Fudge said, "We've been on a streak of really good, solid years here. A lot of it has to do with the consistency of the product we are able to put out. People kind of know what to expect when they come to a Nebraskaland Days event and so we always work to try and deliver on that promise and I think we are going to again this year."

Festival officials say they have an army of volunteers helping out. Up to a thousand volunteers donate their time and energy every year to make the event what it is.

Organizers will be spending the remaining months building sidewalks, finishing projects and making the arena come to life.
