NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Nebraskaland Days kicked off bright and early with the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning.

Police Chief Daniel Hudson delivered a moving speech at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning.

Community members and public officials enjoyed a tasty breakfast at Harvest Christian Church.

Police Chief Daniel Hudson was the featured speaker.

Hudson is a Hemingford native and served in the Marine Corps. He used his life story of service to encourage others in their faith.

"As we work on our profession and as we work on our education and all of those things, we need to work on ourselves being closer with God and more Christian-like. More understanding, more empathetic, and more of all of those things," Hudson said to the crowd.

Hudson has served as the North Platte Police Chief since the fall of 2018.
