Poll workers help ease the anxiety of voting

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. Poll workers were stationed at various locations to ensure the ease and efficiency of voting. They acted as great resource for help if people are unsure of how to cast their ballot.

Whether verbally or by visual aide, they make it an easy and comfortable experience. Carla Freeman and Mary Collins say they enjoy being that resource.

"We are blessed to live in a country where we can participate in the election of our officials," says Freeman. "And because of that I think it's an honor and a duty to be able to help with the election process."

Collins says, "I do this every year. I've been doing it for years. and I like doing it because it's a challenge."

The polls closed at 8 p.m.. However, poll workers, also known as messengers, from across Lincoln County filtered in-and-out of the Lincoln County Courthouse on election day until the late hours of the night to bring their precincts votes.
