Three Custer Public Power District substations suffered power outages due to winter weather Saturday. These power outages affected the town of Stapleton, as well as areas west and south of Arnold.
According to Richard Nelson, General Manger at CPPD, a 69kv Breakers was opened by galloping lines caused by ice and wind at 2:15 p.m. This disruption caused the Stapleton, Garfield and Wieman substations to lose power.
As of 3:30 p.m., the Garfield and Stapleton substations have regained power. The Wieman substation is expected to regain power around 5 p.m. Saturday.
CPPD asks that any customers affected by the power outage contact them at 1-888-749-2453.
