COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KNOP) - White House sources confirm that President Trump will visit Iowa next week, June 11th, to show support for American farmers and to tour Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy L.L.C. in Council Bluffs. The President will make remarks concerning the E-15 rule to allow year round sale of the ethanol blend fuel.
The final rule came last week, following President Trump's 2018 directive to the EPA to remove barriers on the use of gasoline blended with up to 15 percent ethanol (E-15) during the summer driving season, and reform the compliance system to increase transparency and deter price manipulation.
He will discuss his efforts through USMCA to negotiate an updated, modern trade agreement with Canada and Mexico.
The White House sources say that the President is visiting Iowa "in our country's heartland to reaffirm his commitment to supporting and defending America's farmers. Since taking office he has prioritized farmers by negotiating a stronger, fairer trade relationship with Canada and Mexico through the USCMA; by tariffs on U.S. agriculture products; delivered billions in aid, food assistance, and emergency grants to agriculture products recovering from hurricane -related damage, and much more."
After being in Council Bluffs, President Trump will travel to Des Moines to attend a Republican Party of Iowa fundraiser.
