NORTH PLATTE, Neb. KNOP For more than thirty year's, the North Platte Police Department's Santa Cop program has delivered toys to under served children in the community.
Last year, the program spent $6,250 for presents.
However, only 25 families have signed up for the program so far.
"We like to perform services for our community especially, the children, we all love children and we want to take care of them and make sure they have a great childhood and part of that is getting gifts for Christmas," said North Platte Police Department Public Information Officer Elizabeth Kerr. "And without this program, we're going to provide less services for the children and we really want to do that."
Applications for the Santa Cop program can be picked up at WIC, Rape and Domestic Abuse Program, North Platte Kids Academy, local churches, and the Salvation Army.
The deadline is Friday, November 16th.
